Hey Blaise, Thanks Brother for the extra attention in my silat and single stick work last week....the left side movements are getting smoother and more accurate...I can really appreciate how the knife hand can be exchanged for empty hand with the style of hitting. I'm seeing more fencing methods of economy of movement in the arms and feet even though it is a closer style of combat, I would like it if you could cover more of the variety of single stick disarms in the future, are they close to fencing disarms in matters of proper angles and pressure?

July 2009 New England Seminars - Yashai Warcraft

July 2009 Seminars

Blaise will be returning to New England in July 2009 to conduct Yashai Warcraft seminars at various locations. Several locations have been set and several more are being developed.

As usual, Senior Yashai are welcome to fly in and stay at my home.

Private lessons are available on a first come first serve basis. Contact me to set up privates with Blaise.

Your favorite "solo" training methods...?

Hi guys. Well after quite a long break from training I am back at it. Now we all know that training partners are the best way to train most things. However, I find that regardless of how much I train with others most of my training/conditioning is solo.

There are lot of great ideas and methods to train/condition solo. One of my favorites is training on a stack of tires. I was introduced to this method long ago by Blaise and it remains a favorite for me. Primairily I have used this for stick work but today I fixed an air shield to it to see if I could use it to just drill my MT kicks to death. I also attached an MT pad for elbows and knees (I usually throw knees lower but I had to hit the target )So here is what I did...

This is of course not a how too clip... I am a tad rusty but it felt really solid worked great. I had to do a few adjustments here and there. I plan on using it to just slam my kicks several hundered times each side to get my form/speed/power etc... back.
